About Liza

Liza Patoux BSc (Hons) MA MCIM FRSA CH MFHT

I have had the privilege of a busy and colourful career following my passions as an international television executive, marketing some of the UK’s best loved entertainment brands around the world. Like many, I found myself buffeted by some of life’s little challenges and realised that our health and wellbeing, and that of our loved ones, is one of the most precious gifts we have. I passionately set about building a personalised wellbeing programme and learning the skills and tools to build resilience, energise a zest for life and melt away stress, in a way that allows us to shine our inner light.

Since qualifying as a Certified Hypnotherapist and Yoga Teacher, I specialise in encouraging people to live well in a happy, healthy way and enabling them to soar. Focussing on wellbeing at work, rest and play, I offer hypnotherapy, yoga and dance, tailored to the personalised needs of the individual, and am known for my caring and empathetic approach. As my philosophy is to follow practices that complement conventional medicine, I trained and qualified with respected and world class experts and schools. My holistic training started with the Hypnotherapy Training Company, before completing 300 Hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Sally Parkes Yoga, Trauma Informed Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Emma Cole and a further 200 hours of traditional yoga with the wonderful Claire Missingham. I have also studied intensively with the creator of Restorative Yoga Judith Hanson Lasater, am a certified Relax and Renew© Restorative Yoga Teacher and had the privilege and honour to assist Judith at her Level 1 training.

Elizian Days is about making time for the things we love and one of my passions is the joy of dance. My mother packed me off to classes at the age of three, and I grew up to specialise in the jazz dances of Harlem. Trained in old-school Lindy Hop and Charleston by both original dancers from the 1930s and the leading lights of the swing revival, I studied closely under world swing dance masters including Frankie Manning, Chazz Young, Chester Whitmore, Ryan Francois and Jenny Thomas. Thanks to this lineage, I teach authentic swing dances, in a historical context, combining good technique with personalised styling and flair, that emphasises responding to the music. As a former UK Lindy Hop champion, I have been privileged to dance and choreograph for many venues and events, as well as dancing on some of the best loved TV shows, in films, music videos and for private events. One of the most joyous moments was dancing an original tap choreography by Miriam Nelson, a star of vintage Hollywood musicals, in front of both Miriam and the legendary Fayard Nicholas, taught by Rusty Frank.
